This M3 hex flange nut is manufactured to DIN 6923-Z in A4 stainless steel (316 grade). DIN 6923-Z specifies a hexagon nut with an integral flange on the bearing face, spreading the clamping load without a separate washer. The flange spreads load over a wider area than a plain nut face and resists pulling into softer material, while serrations on some patterns help the nut resist loosening.

Typical applications

  • Fixings into sheet, plastics, and softer substrates
  • Assemblies where a separate washer is impractical
  • Vehicle, trailer, and machinery work
  • General fabrication and maintenance

How do I choose between A2 and A4 stainless steel?

A2 (304) stainless steel suits most indoor, outdoor and workshop jobs. Choose A4 (316) marine grade for coastal, marine, poolside or other chloride-rich environments.

How do I make sure I order the right size?

Check the size in the product title and the standard, material and dimensions in the Product Specification tab. In M8 x 30, M8 is the thread diameter and 30 is the length in millimetres. See our size guide if you need more help.
