This M4 hex flange nut is manufactured to DIN 6923 in A2 stainless steel (304 grade). DIN 6923 specifies a hexagon nut with an integral flange on the bearing face, spreading the clamping load without a separate washer. The flange spreads load over a wider area than a plain nut face and resists pulling into softer material, while serrations on some patterns help the nut resist loosening.

A2 (304) stainless steel suits most indoor, outdoor and workshop jobs. Choose A4 (316) marine grade for coastal, marine, poolside or other chloride-rich environments.
