Stainless steel hexagon nuts in A2 (304) and A4 (316). Full nuts to DIN 934 and ISO 4032 run from M1 to M64, with imperial UNC, UNF, BSW, BSF and BA sizes too, and a few sizes in duplex (1.4462) stainless.
- Thin nuts (DIN 439 and ISO 4035) and jam nuts, for locking against a full nut or where space is tight.
- Left hand thread full and thin nuts.
Pair a full nut with a bolt or set screw of the same thread and grade, with a flat washer under the nut. For vibration-prone joints use a lock nut; for exposed threads, finish with a dome nut. Castle, connector, weld and collar nuts are in specialist nuts, and flange nuts have their own flange nuts page. Choose A4 for coastal and marine work.
