This M14 heavy flat washer is manufactured to DIN 7349 in A2 stainless steel (304 grade). DIN 7349 specifies a thick flat washer for use with bolts under high load, for distributing heavy clamping forces. The increased thickness resists dishing under high clamping loads, keeping the bearing face flat and spreading force into the parent material rather than deforming around the bolt head.

How do I choose between A2 and A4 stainless steel?
A2 (304) stainless steel suits most indoor, outdoor and workshop jobs. Choose A4 (316) marine grade for coastal, marine, poolside or other chloride-rich environments.
