This M24 x 1.5mm nylon insert lock nut is manufactured to DIN 985 in A4 stainless steel (316 grade). DIN 985 specifies a hexagon nut with a nylon collar set into the top face, for joints subject to vibration. Property class A4-70 indicates a minimum tensile strength of 700 MPa - stronger than standard A4-50 and suited to structural fixings where higher clamping force is needed. The nylon collar is undersized and deforms around the thread as the nut is run on, gripping it and resisting loosening under vibration without damaging the bolt thread.

How do I choose between A2 and A4 stainless steel?
A2 (304) stainless steel suits most indoor, outdoor and workshop jobs. Choose A4 (316) marine grade for coastal, marine, poolside or other chloride-rich environments.
