This 10 wing nut is manufactured to ASME B18.6.9 in A2 stainless steel (304 grade). ASME B18.6.9 specifies a nut with two projecting wings in place of hexagon flats, for hand tightening without a spanner. The wings allow the nut to be run on and released by hand, suiting assemblies that are dismantled often or where a spanner cannot reach.

How do I choose between A2 and A4 stainless steel?

A2 (304) stainless steel suits most indoor, outdoor and workshop jobs. Choose A4 (316) marine grade for coastal, marine, poolside or other chloride-rich environments.
